Welcome to the EDIT521 Group 2 Innovations Wiki

Hi All
Cathie here -- I started the course a little late and have been tied up at work because my boss is going overseas, and I have resigned which also means that I have to write a proceedures manual. What fun. However I think I can keep up, but still haven't quite sussed everything about the course. My interests are in organising forums in particular, and podcasts to a lesser extent as this is what meshes with my work at the Sydney Writers Centre. I am also interested in workshopping -- but imagine this is forums or in the Cloud. Looking forward to getting to know you -- Cathie

Let's get started on our group work to discuss emerging tools in the context of Innovation.
My particular intersts are in Forums, Wikis and LMS.

Hi Heather here....my interest is in connected classrooms...interactive whiteboards and collaborative programs e.g storybird, storymash.

Hi again I have emailed Sue to confirm whether collaborative learning in connected classrooms is an ok area to explore, I have spent all day reading and clicking and joining. Each time I go online I think I have learnt a little more but it is like water on a rock it seems to be taking forever to get a grip on the smallest concepts etc....anyway I think I'm passed census date....

I thought that I would look at what definitions or concepts of innovation with respect to elearning were out there: Mary

“Innovation is for everyone. Learning is for everyone” An interview with Anna Kirahn Nº 8 • April 2008http://www.elearningeuropa.info/files/media/media15531.pdf
The innovative mindset is simple; it is bringing back the ‘Why’ to our everyday lives. Through our culture, through our education, through our upbringing, through company culture, we kill natural curiosity (p. 3)

The definition of ‘innovation’ provided in the ANTA publication Innovation: ideas that work, (ANTA, 2002) is provided as a useful guide to the thinking that underpins the use of the term innovation.
